Day 33 of 40. Evil doesn't exist

Yes, another clickbait title! Because we all know there is evil in the world. However, it's more a concept than a legitimate thing. Many of us know the story going around the internet. It's attributed to Albert Einstein, but as Abraham Lincoln said in a meme, don't believe everything on the internet to be true. So who knows where this piece came from. For those that don't know, the story is a science teacher saying that because evil exists then God would have had to create it. So if God created evil He is evil. Then a student points out some science truths. Coldness, darkness and silence don't exist either. Rather, they are terms we use for the concept of lack of heat, light and sound. There are many more such things in existence. A vacuum is lack of pressure is one that comes to mind.

The same can be said of evil. Evil isn't a thing, rather it's the lack of God.

But why would there be a lack of God in anything? If He's omnipresent, then it would be impossible? Well no, He is everywhere, but He doesn't partake in everything. He has given sovereignty of the world to His creation. And when we demand He leaves something alone, He generally complies. This idea is shocking when we realize tragedies in school are on the rise, the more we make sure He has no place in them. He has given us free will to choose to do things that are selfish and ungodly.

So when people shout out to the heavens, "Why did you let this happen!?" We know because He allowed humans to choose to do it.

This idea should wake up Christians to further truths. If any action they do, doesn't glorify God, then is it evil? It can very likely be. Does that mean everything we do that's not "for the church" a sin? Absolutely not! Taking pleasure in God's creation and having leisure time is a good thing. Even God rested on the seventh day. But if the action would bring shame to the name of God or it's not something you'd do if God was in the room with you, chances are it's not something you should be doing.
